A Masterpiece now framed

We all related well to this name.  I believe this because it was a group effort.  It served the band well, both by Don and Paul who carried this group into the 70s, and my new group I carried through 1983.

I designed the logo and arranged to get it completed.  It was painted through a silk-screen process, it contains seven primary colors and three minor colors, and cost me $10.00.

The band continues to change.  Mike Kondos (Moorhead) joined as our bass player.  His presence often caused a stir, he very closely resembled, then very popular, Johnny Cochran.  Byron and Dave also moved on.  I don't know where Byron went, but I heard that Dave went to New York and had a job with Kodak.  A new female joined the band (sad to say I do not remember her name).  Cal 'Cory' Hamilton joined the band later, a ladies man, and it was unfortunate that he did not fit the bands profile, and he moved along.

Earlier in the bands beginnings, Leonard, Bob, Dave and I headed to the recording studio, Hi-Lo Studios, a local Moorhead setup, and recorded three promotional records.  Frances was featured on one, and Dave Harmon was also on at least two of the records.

Bob had to move on, to Wisconsin, with his mother, and a new and up coming guitarist, Paul Hubbard (Moorhead) took his place.

Why Leonard left the band seems to be a very cloudy issue.  After talking with the guys, we appear to have as many different recalls.  After 40 years I guess it is a dead issue.

Four others passed through the group over the months, but another great talent joined the band, Don Formanek Jr (Moorhead).  He took control of  bass guitar and commedian.  Paul went to lead guitar, I was on drums and now learning to play guitar and vocal lessons.

I must apologize for not remembering the new lead vocalist/guitarist, I will research this further.

My time with The Treasures that I grew up with was coming to an end.  The Navy would have me soon, and I relinquished my duties to a new drummer.

The band went on to record two records on Valor Records at the SOMA Studios in Minneapolis.  One is rarely  known as the Aaron Brothers, now appears to be a direct problem with SOMA.

Paul and Don continued into the '70s as I understand it, holding The Treasures name together and maintaining their musical integrity.
